I originally wanted to write a piece on why grass fed beef is better for you. But as their have been so many great books and articles written on that, I feel like I’d just be copying what I’ve read. Also, grass fed beef is one of the more well known necessities of the sustainable food movement. Most readers of this blog are probably well aware of why it’s better, so I feel like I’d just be preaching to the choir. What needs to be brought to people’s attention though is that while grass fed beef can be bought in grocery stores like Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s and specialty butcher shops, very few restaurants offer it. So it looks a better thing for The Appropriate Omnivore to alert people about is what restaurants you can go to and order grass fed beef. Over the course of this blog, I’ll be doing several entries, each spotlighting a different restaurant. I’ll also talk about what organic options they have with other foods, such as fruits and vegetables. Get ready to change the way you look at restaurants.
