I’m Aaron. I come from a background working in documentary and reality television. And I’m The Appropriate Omnivore. I’m a blogger and podcaster.
I was born and raised in the midwest, where people love their meat. After college, I moved to Los Angeles, where I met lots of tree huggers. I too became interested in the environmental cause.
While learning how to live more sustainably and being involved with various green groups, I constantly was told to be vegetarian or vegan. But I couldn’t give up a good steak the same way I was for switching to electric cars or solar power. Then I read the The Omnivore’s Dilemma. I realized animals that are pastured and raised humanely are needed to save the planet. I also learned about how the entire food industry needs to become more natural, local, and sustainable.
This blog is all about lifestyles in the world of real food. I cover everyone that’s involved in it from farmers to vendors to chefs to every day people that improved their life by making the transition to traditional nutrient dense foods.
